Price Canyon Recreation Area

A Ridge Above the Rest

The Price Canyon Recreation Area boasts a nature trail that features a stand of bristlecone pine trees. The bristlecone pine tree is one of the longest living life forms on Earth.

Experience

The Canyon

The recreation area is located on a ridge high above Price Canyon. The entrance road, a scenic overlook accessible by automobile, and a hiking trail, provide excellent views of rugged canyon country. Three group picnic areas, well-spaced campgrounds include large picnic tables, toilets, fire pits, & parking spaces.

Located on ridge high above Price Canyon is the Bristlecone Ridge trail, this nature trail is named after the tall bristlecone pine trees that flank the trail. The trail follows an old road to Ford Ridge communication towers, and is an easy way to enjoy the rugged canyon country.

Bristlecone Ridge is a popular way to spend a summer day as the area is cool and shady.  So pack a picnic and head out – it is just half an hour from downtown Price.

A lesser known feature of the recreation area are the boulder fields that are becoming known amongst the climbing community. The rocks found here are similar to those found in Joe’s Valley
