Welcome to the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office
The Carbon County Sheriff's Office is responsible for patrolling and answering calls in unincorporated areas of the county, as well as assisting municipal city police departments and the Utah Highway Patrol. The Sheriff's Office also employs many Correctional Officers to staff the county jail where inmates from all law enforcement agencies in the county are housed.
Through innovative leadership, technology, and our dedication to providing quality services, the Sheriff's Office will maximize the use of its resources to provide the highest quality service which will aid in improving the quality of life for the residents of Carbon County.
This decade will bring new challenges to our county, but the commitment of the Carbon County Sheriff's Office will not change. We will continue to provide our community with professional, efficient law enforcement through well-trained officers, technology, crime prevention and a proactive approach to public safety.

Video Kiosk Visitation
The video are available for the sending and receiving of texts and allow for virtual visitations. This is a fee based service.

Carbon County Sheriff’s Office registers sex offenders that live in the county at large. These registrations have to be made in person.

We always love to hear stories about our deputies and their contributions to our community. Generally, the county accepts donations for accident scenes, monetary donations (for example our canine program). If you have items that you would like to donate, please contact our office in advance to make arrangements.

Do you do fingerprinting?
Yes, fingerprinting is available Monday - Friday, 6-8pm and Saturday through Sunday 10am - 6pm. Nobody under the age of 18 can be serviced.

Where can I drop off old medications?
Bring your old medications to the Sheriff's office at 240 W Main Street. If our administration office is closed, a representative at the jail will be able to assist you.
Can I hire security for an event?
Yes, you would want to reach out to the Chief Deputy, contact information below, to arrange for security.
Fees are based on individual event requirements.
How can I volunteer?
Contact the Sheriff office during regular business office to find out about active needs and projects that could benefit from local volunteers. If there are no active projects, we can take down your information and get in touch when a project matching your skills comes up.
