Carbon & Emery Farmers Market

The Farmers Market dates for the year are weather permitting and are as follows:

July 8, 15, 22 & 29

August 5, 12, 19 & 26

September 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30

October 7, 14, 21 & 28

Anyone who is has EBT/SNAP benefits can purchase items from selected vendors. “They can use their SNAP/EBT card to buy tokens for any of the food items, but they get an equivalent dollar amount in what are called Double Up Bucks that can only be spent on fresh produce. So they really get a 2 for 1 deal and it’s a great deal for those who are low income and on the SNAP Program,” stated Hughes. There is one booth that is set up to help patrons purchasing items with their EBT/SNAP benefits just look for them at the Farmer’s Market.

Low income and Seniors can also purchase items in a particular way too. “They need to go to the same booth; it seems like in the past they’ve received something in the mail that tells them they are eligible for this and they go to the same booth for the SNAP Program. They will be issued a booklet of coupons for $50.00, each coupon is worth $5.00,” said Hughes.
